Shoot Day 2

Call time today is a little more humane--12pm--because we're shooting a split schedule, meaning we're shooting half in daylight (12-6pm), half in nighttime (7-12am), all on location at a three story house in Prospect Park in which a lot of the film's action takes place. The house will be our home base for the next two weeks straight and most of the remainder of October. I set up camp at a table on the porch, and try to read a script between takes, but mostly end up getting sucked into conversations with people.

One thing about working on a small film set is that you get to know everyone pretty quickly since you're in close quarters and spend a lot of time waiting for something to happen. I spend a good deal of the day getting to know various players on set from the screenwriter--who as it turns out is every bit as intelligent, witty and warm as the script; the director's asst Jorge--a great guy who is fast becoming a good friend and partner in crime on set; to the PAs who are fun to talk to when they're not barking into their walkies (or being barked at).
